The factory of dreams in Taufkirchen

Individual quality, timeless design and unlimited well-being – these are just three of our benchmarks for “Quality from Bavaria” which have transformed a small but fabulous upholstery factory into one of the largest and most efficient upholstered furniture manufacturers in Europe.

These days, around 3,500 members of staff work across 83,000 square metres of production space to fulfil an almost infinite range of customer requirements and produce around 1,600 items of upholstered furniture each day with passion, precision and attention for detail.

The models, fabric and leather designs and varied functional options are as wide-ranging as the tastes of our customers. Thus, almost every piece of himolla upholstered furniture which passes our stringent quality controls and is sent on its way in one of our lorries is completely unique.

People need to be given expert advice when choosing between our products. That is why we work closely with furniture stores and only sell our upholstered furniture through selected specialist retailers.

Our focus is always on people

We call it simply “upholstery for people”. It is underlined by a humanist approach which recognises that people and their individual needs are the top priority.
This means you, the customer, with your own personal wishes concerning the design, functionality, material, comfort and quality – in short, what you expect to get from himolla.

Everything is about people here

Then there are our members of staff: we are very proud of them and they show exceptional loyalty to us, as is demonstrated by the fact that they have been employed by himolla for 18 years on average. We want to do full justice to their tireless dedication, their demands for further training and development, as well as their motivation and job security.

The main objective: our job is only complete when you are satisfied!

We complete our tasks each day and carry them out with a living philosophy, which is probably the secret behind himolla’s success. Two things are directly linked: motivated employees produce wonderful upholstered furniture and thus ensure satisfied customers. We are doing everything in our power to continue to write our history.

From a family business to a market leader – the “comfort” company has a future.

One of the secrets behind our success is our constant willingness to change. We call it the “tradition of progress”.
This simply means that we work hard each day to further improve the “himolla quality” and to make our legendary “feel good comfort” even better.
And we have been doing this with great success for over 70 years.

Emissions, energy balance, materials – everything green!

These days it is called “sustainability”, but we have always called it “a responsibility towards people and nature”. It simply means that, from the planning stages to procurement and production, through to delivery, we act responsibly with regard to nature and the environment. That is how we have become one of the largest upholstered furniture manufacturers in Europe. And we are proud of our achievement.

The production process at himolla: meticulous from start to finish.

The production of your upholstered furniture begins in the development department. This is where our creative team works to develop the upholstered furniture trends and comfort functions of tomorrow. After extensive tests and the release for series production, manufacturing begins with the quality control of all of the components and materials in the incoming goods department. It is only then that our specialists get to work. With attention to detail and excellent craftsmanship, a number of parts  are combined to produce a unique item that perfectly meets your requirements. On the way to a complete piece of upholstered furniture, each function, each join and each individual part is inspected and checked. The final stage is to load a high-quality piece of upholstered furniture – one that will accompany you for many years and give you lots of pleasure – onto our lorries. An original from himolla.
